
Dear All,
Hope all of you had a great start to the new year !! Welcome back to office. 2016 has been a great year - in terms of learning and growth and trust that you enjoyed this journey.
We have setup ourselves on the path of transformation & growth through Project Jargon - a journey of 2 years and more, with the first phase (Phase 1) in motion. You would notice that we have made a significant change in our mission statement - "exponential business growth". This mission is providing the guiding light in the way we are shaping the company & the product. For now, the product is referred to as Social CRM and our mission is to help our customers have exponential growth in their business (the growth can be in sales/revenue, marketing/reach, innovation, employee connectivity, etc).
Although we are yet to see the desired interim results of Phase 1 of Jargon, we are steadfastly and resolutely on the path of transformation. We are still turning around the corner and not out of the woods yet. The next few quarters will be very demanding and is nicely setup for Pupa kind of a growth.
The business growth has been mainly from existing customers - in that sense, we have increased the customer LTV (life time value) - a metric that we had set ourselves on last year. This has kept us in business but we have are still yet to enable the growth trajectory; we have developed pipeline of opportunities in the last few months with a sustained campaign centering on the 3 solutions (3 successful customers) - 1. Omni Channel Social Commerce (Lithan), 2. Collaborative Innovation (Unilever) and 3. Future of Work (Menarini Connect).
Now we need to quickly get the ground running with new customers converted from the pipeline. This is mainly centred on making www.sambaash.com as the main gateway for our sales & marketing effort; while "dog fooding" our own product for work.sambaash.com - in other words applying our mission of exponential business growth for ourselves. The faster we overcome the pain of using work.sambaash.com and the quicker we make www.sambaash.com as our sales & marketing engine, the more we are nearer to realising our dreams of making Sambaash a true product company, which also means repeatability in sales leading to growth. We have unfulfilled goal of analytics, content tagging, remarketing, etc from our last year's directions.
The attached slide deck has a preview of what we have been doing and what we intend to do on the 3 pillars of Phase 1 of Jargon - sales, product innovation and projects. After having set the sales on a competitive edge, the innovation angle being worked out. In the next 4 months, across 3 iterations, we should be releasing the omni channel part of the Social CRM Platform (aka Omni Channel Social Commerce product). More on it, in a subsequent rollout in the next few weeks; but for now please keep yourself abreast that this work is in progress. The next item on the agenda is to bring competitiveness into projects.
On a personal note, I am blessed to have all of you as team members on this journey - a team which has a fine blend of understanding, loyalty, motivation and now displaying the hunger to learn & be moulded. The most significant aspect is the open, trusting culture that we have created, which is very valuable - it is outstanding, more so when we deal with customer office environment. Without your knowing, each one of you have been motivational in different ways and at different points of time. My heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you.
While we have been very diligent about our activities, we need to make it count and turn it into a significant achievement with force multipliers. To do so, there are just few simple things to do -
a. Clarity - always engage to get to know the end user business objective /goal of the activities; if it is not conveyed
b. Quality - always verify and validate whether your activities have achieved the stated / needed objective ; if not do keep in mind that it is an activity completion and there is still a gap w.r.t end user business objective
c. Timeline / deadline - to achieve the deadline within specified timeline, it is always required to introspect regularly to move from hard working to smart working
d. Involvement - To do a. to c., the only thing required is intense involvement every moment. It is like how we play soccer or any other game, where we give the best every moment and not be worried about the results (the results just happen).
So, let's make it mantra - TIQC - pronounced as "tick". Let's shift the gears of the vehicle called Sambaash, increase the speed and start accelerating, to achieve a certain velocity and trajectory. To do so, we need to ensure that the engine and all the four wheels respond in tandem and in unison to the steering, as it gets steered by the driver. The engine, the wheels and the steering needn't know the road in detail; the only thing needed is to work together and follow the driving instincts of the driver as he responds to the terrain of the journey.
At the start of this new year, I request each one of us to make our work count by making a difference to ourselves and staying true to Project Jargon and tick together.
